Genevieve Roch-Decter, CFA
Genevieve is the founder & CEO of Grit Capital a capital market advisory firm started in 2016. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2016, Genevieve was a Portfolio Manager and Analyst for LDIC Inc., a $600M asset management company based in Toronto. While there, she spearheaded the launch of three specialized funds: the LDIC North American Small Business Fund, the LDIC North American Infrastructure Fund and the Healthcare Special Opportunities Fund. She also, with the help of her team, raised nearly $100M in asset for LDIC Inc. For 7 years she ran the Redwood Global Small Cap Fund – which was the best performing small cap fund in Canada in 2009, 2010 and 2014 as ranked by Globe Funds – the fund returned over 150% to investors (13% CAGR) from 2008 to 2015. Genevieve has been featured in the Globe & Mail, the National Post, and Business News Network (BNN).
Genevieve completed the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation (CFA) in 2011 and has her Level 1 Chartered Market Technician designation (CMT). She has also completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC). She attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education for Private Equity & Venture Capital in 2016. She has an honors bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Economics from McMaster University.
She is currently a founding member of the Institute for Blockchain Innovation (IBI) with leaders from Indiegogo, Finova, 500 Startups, & Ausum Ventures. She is a SheO Activator and a member of the CFA Society.
She has appeared on numerous times on BNN as well as featured in the Globe & Mail and National Post. Genevieve is an avid golfer, skier, tennis player & wakesurfer!

Nicole has vast capital markets experience including roles in institutional sales, investment banking and over 8 years in investor relations. Early in her career she founded Auburn Partners Investor Relations firm and later worked independently as an investor relations consultant in the healthcare, mining, and technology sector. She has guided countless clients through the go public stage to ultimate acquisition of the company, including 3 notable client acquisitions in past 5 years.
She started her career in investment banking working for the boutique, Blair Franklin, as well as Scotia, that were both focused on Mergers and Acquisitions. Her team advised and completed a number of billion dollar acquisitions.
She worked at an independent boutique in institutional sales covering Toronto Vancouver where in her last year she was the second top grossing sales person. In this role, she successfully financed and traded some of the leading small cap. companies listed on the TSX and TSXV.
Nicole’s experience provides a unique advisory perspective towards capital markets’ understanding of what drives investment dealers and institutions, deep relationships with retail advisors and institutions, regulatory knowledge of being a public company and M&A advisory experience. The combination of these traits is what maximizes shareholder value to her clients.
She holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is the Founder and Chair of Love Puppies, a not-for-profit to end puppy mills in Canada. She is passionate about animals and leaving the world a better a place.
